We are in the middle of one that I think will be awesome but I just need tips on how to write original music. Me being the A7X fan I am, I find myself accidently creating riffs that sound like their songs. This song I’m making now doesn’t rip of A7X imo, but I just don’t want to rip them off when I make other songs. I belive there is a difference between “influence” and “copying” so im sure our songs will soumd simular to avenged at times (cause we like to write in drop D). Granted I have learned a lot of my solo techniques from the SGS and my solos will sound a little similar to Synysters style so that is normal I guess but I just need some tips on writing riffs that are original. What do you guys do to write original riffs? 0 likes May 17, 2019 at 10:17 am #185838 Calvin PhillipsParticipant PM me and I’ll give it a listen. Riffs can sound alike but be completely different. Play it as a different tempo see if the direction changes. I can listen to your stuff and give you opinions if youd like. 0 likes May 17, 2019 at 10:20 am #185839 Matt WildmanParticipant Yeah that’s a good idea, it’s on my DAW tho so idk how I could send it to you 0 likes Author Posts Viewing 3 posts - 1 through 3 (of 3 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
