CJ's 2 Cents: Fixing your picking hand!

You voted for it here you have it (sorry its not in HD...youtube did not make it HD)!

This time we are gonna look into making your fretting hand better. Hope you enjoy!
Your method may work... but it socks ... Sorry I had to :ROFLMAO:
Very informative and memes on point as always! Some really good tips in there! Just one thing came to my mind... If you are a really good player, no kind of muting should be necessary when doing legato, right? Wouldn't it be a better practice without a fretwrap cause you have to focus on playing clean? Seriously curious!

Legato when you assist with the picking hand, you shouldn't need a fretwrap. But only playing with your fretting hand...a fretwrap is kinda needed I believe. Thats what I meant in this case. In the exercise I do, i only use my fretting hand. No assistance from the picking hand.

very good video. I use to be one of those people that said "there's only one real good way to pick". And i was wrong. When I started taking private lessons it all changed. I think there's a right way to HOLD the pick, but i agree with this video 100%

Thanks so much Jak. I hope beginners catch this lesson too in order to prevent forming the bad habbit

Super nice! I've been trying to rework my hand. I used a rubber band a few times, I'll try the sock.
I've been wanting to share a few things I train sometimes, but I feel unsure if people want to know.
I like how you said like "why" and put things in a cool story manner

Thank you so much man! Hope this helps. I know a sock may seem silly...but it helped me!

Well I do believe that you can play legato clean without extra muting, I mean legato is always only fretting hand at some point. It is hard though, but so is everything at first! Anyway, nothing wrong with extra muting of course, especially in a live situation where things can get wild!

I cut too many holes in the sock. Hey, when I pick and not pay attention I make weird movements. I've been trying to figure out why, here's a few things I noticed; I switch my pick sometimes for what I'm playing and because sometimes losing grip. Another reason was skipping strings in particular, I seem to give my pick little ticks kind of like throwing weight into something for momentum. I don't do it everywhere and I notice I do it more when I'm playing slow and feeling my way.
Also the volume knob on my guitar is kind of in the way to fully make my hand flat like you guys, can I take it out or move it?
Sorry for the wall of text, I forgot to ask is this bad what I do with the pick does anyone know? It probably looks strange
