  • Some things I'm having issues with. My wrist was hurting after practicing. Took me a minute to figure out the neck is supposed to be pushed away from the body kind of like this )/. All the videos make it seem like it's flush with the body😂 Continuing to practice. Alternate picking is giving me a run for my money. How do you keep from hitting a different string? Still practicing Do Re Me, don't want to develop bad habits.

For me (I still hit different strings sometimes haha) but I find it easiest to actually mute the other strings with my picking hand, definitely awkward at first but the more you practice it the easier it gets. also, I’m glad you noticed that wrist pain ! That’s never a good thing. I hope changing position has helped.
when I very first started I’d lay the guitar completely horizontal across my lap and that caused me to bend my wrist in a weird angle. When I’m sitting to play I now put in kind of ibetween my legs and hold it in a position it would be in if I were standing to play if that makes sense.

here’s an example. The neck is pointed up and you can see my wrist is in a much more neutral position like this, as opposed to if I had the guitar just laying flat against my lap. hope this helps!!
