    Feeling stuck

There’s lots of great suggestions here. In my opinion, if you feel you’re losing interest or getting bored. Just play what you want to play. There is such a thing as overpracticing. What I mean by that is, if you’re only practicing what you’re struggling with and not being creative with the...

What lessons would you like to see added?

I agree with Christopher. It’d be cool to see how you approach harmonies, chord progressions and different voicings. It’d also be cool to see whatever you guys are currently working on and excited about in your own playing.

How to find people to jam with when you don't know anyone?

I’m hoping to meet like minded musicians on here as well. I’m also gonna travel around the U.S. this year and see where some good music scenes are and see where would be a good spot to get my footing.

How to find people to jam with when you don't know anyone?

I’m also struggling meeting like minded musicians to jam with. Hoping this site helps a little bit with that. Seems great so far.

    Favorite Syn Solo

Man, it’s hard to pick just one. Off the new album, my favorite is probably the solo on Sunny Disposition. Harmonically, it’s really interesting and I love the note choices. I could be wrong, but it sounds like he’s using the sustainic in in a couple parts. I also really love the guitar work in...

What genre do you play ? Is someone here who dosen't even play guitar?

I play metal. I play all types of metal and hard rock. I took jazz lessons growing up and have an appreciation for Jazz and blues but I mostly play and write around the metal genre. I enjoy bands along the lines of: Pantera, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Bullet for My Valentine, Lamb of...

Tim Hutchins's riff from January 6, 2018 at 2:20 pm

I love a good metal power ballad. Two of my favorite songs of all time are Metallica's Fade to Black and Pantera's Cemetery Gates. This was my attempt to write a song with a similar type of vibe.

Tim Hutchins's riff from January 6, 2018 at 2:15 pm

For this song, I was going for a different feel. I think it has an 8/4 feel or something around that, until the end of the song. It has a bit of a Lamb of God vibe.

Tim Hutchins's riff from January 6, 2018 at 1:44 pm

This is one of the first songs I demoed out. I've since gotten a little better with the over all quality but its one of the tracks I'm most proud of, songwriting wise. The initial idea for the song was to combine a really heavy, thrashy verse riff with an almost punk chorus that had harmonized guita
