Does anybody know how to create a solid Synyster Gates solo tone on Axe Fx 2? :)

I’ve been trying tons of things with the Recto1 mostly and Trad V60 Full cabinet and well I like it but it’s still too bright and not that powerful Syn’s tone that I’d like.. I’ve also put a gate some reverb, delay and a drive block with drive on 0 and only tone up (tube screamer variant) but I’m interested! How do you guys have your preset built? 🙂
I love The Stage tone by the way!

Treble:10
Bass- 4-5
With a little bit of reverb and delay.

Hey Ids. I have! But I’ve searched for the stage cab pack to see how it sounds but haven’t found anything at all so I don’t know what I’ll be getting.. also for a few other packs as well?

Here’s a demo I did of the Syn Cab Pack. Syn was in attendance, and I went through my tone stack a little bit to explain how it works. A lot of this was done for people not familiar with Fractal or modeling, but you can hop around and find gold:

This one goes into a little more detail and answers some follow-up questions, and playing some actual A7X clips:

Then I go through how and why I changed amplifier models on my tone to work with Syn’s Iso cabinet:

If you have any questions, happy to answer them.

Hey Ed I saw your video and that’s pretty much everything I saw. It sounds great to me I see that you covered the Iso cabinet and the Boner right? My question to you mainly is what would be better to get the Hellwin pack or The Stage pack? Since Syn did say that he used the Hellwin tone for the Stage and Hail albums. What would be the difference I guess? 🙂

So, since it’s just one element in the tone stack, everything else can be tweaked. I had started out with the Hellwin 4×12 when I bought the full, all-inclusive cab pack (it hadn’t yet been broken up to smaller groupings for cheaper yet!), and I settled on that mostly because tonally it worked best with the tone I already had. When I tried, for example, the Iso or Stage cabs, they were thin and sounded terrible.
Mind you, when Syn says he used the Hellwin for HTTK and The Stage, he means the actual Hellwin cabinets, not a model. Syn only switched to Fractal about six months or so ago.
When another member asked for a demo of the Iso cab, I took the time to tweak the tone for it – less than 10 minutes, really – and I found I really liked that cab overall, and switched to that setup full-time. With the Hellwin and Boner cabs, I preferred the 5153 Blue head, and with the smaller 1×12 cabs (the Iso and Stage cabs) I prefer the 5153 Red.
The 5153 Red is the model in the Fractal that Syn’s own tone is built from in the AxeFX3, so you can go from there if you really want to get that Syn tone.
